How long have you been with Viparo as a Graphic Designer for?
I've been working for VIPARO as they're in-house Graphic Designer for just over a year.

What would you say are the biggest factors that can take a logo design from good to great?
Attention to detail. I think that when you are able to recognise the effort and detail that has been put into the construction of an identity, it in turn reflects on the qualities that a brand/company carries.

Mac or PC, Why?
Mac - Simply because they are able to continuously lead the way in innovating and defining the way we live our lives...and also for their awesome computers.

What tools are in your designer’s tool box that you couldn’t live without? Software, apps, hardware, books etc? Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign)

In a nutshell I am……
A person who likes to see things in all of its entirety, that likes to appreciate the smallest of details, and has a passion to visually communicate his ideas with the world through creativity.

Roberto: As Director of the company this guy sits in the driver's seat and makes sure all is running smooth as silk.

When was Viparo created and what made you start it? VIPARO’s inception was official on June 2009. Started by a group of friends, we were inspired by peers and celebrities wearing leather jackets, and how effortlessly cool and confident the perfect leather jacket could make the wearer appear.

We then set out shopping to find our perfect leather jacket with no success! To our surprise we couldn’t find any high quality, affordable, stylish leather jackets anywhere. Every shop either had a couple of styles or jackets or their range was either old fashioned, too “biker-ish” or way too expensive and over our budget.

Over dinner that night, we were talking about how great it would be if there was one location to purchase leather jackets and saw the opportunity of starting an online store to stock our own designed leather jackets. Online was the way to go as we didn’t have much capital at the time to open a bricks and mortar store.

With more brainstorming we started to realise it was more than just about leather jackets, but about the way they make you feel when wearing them so we created our branding around the “Culture of Confidence”. With this idea VIPARO was born.

Describe the ideal person to wear your clothing in 4 words? Effortlessly cool and confident

Which Viparo product are you most proud of? I’m proud of our latest range of Premium Leather Jackets. They are made from the highest quality New Zealand Lambskin leather and super comfortable fits, they really our ultimate leather jacket!

What celebrity would you most want to see wearing Viparo and why? VIPARO jackets and leather jackets in general are timeless. They suit anyone from any age to so I’d love to see VIPARO on some of my favourite celebrities, such as Kanye West, Pharell Williams, Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Jared Leto, Colin Farrell, Christian Bale, Gerard Butler, Shia Lebouf, Bradley Cooper and for women, Cara Delavigne, Cheryl Cole, Ashley Olsen, Miranda Kerr, Zoe Kravitz and Kate Moss!

All these celebrities are very confident, sure of themselves, very individualistic, edgy and effortlessly stylish.

Fallon: Project managing social media for the brand keeps our hardworking girl pretty busy

Describe the best thing about your job, and working in the Viapro head office? The atmosphere at work is a great environment!

Pedantic styler, or effortlessly, thrown-together, which look do you subscribe to when dressing for work? For work, defiantly effortlessly, thrown-together, it’s all about comfort when I am working.

Describe Viparo the brand in 3 words

Bold, fearless and confident

The future looks bright for Viparo, where do you see the company heading? Our SS 12 collection is crazzzzy! We have many great things up our sleeves!

When I wake up in the morning the first thing that pops into my brain is…. Can I sleep for 10 more minutes?

Alyssa: Being Women's Wear Designer means Alyssa is the creative wonder woman behind all of Viparo's stunning pieces.

Describe your inspirations for Viparo’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

A Race from the Desert to the Sea. The Viparo SS 12 Collection is inspired by fast cars kicking up dust through the long dry American desert, the final destination being the financially poor but culturally rich back streets of a Cuban Coastal Paradise.

Its about sharing the journey of summer.

What is your favourite piece of clothing you own?

A leather jacket I found in a small vintage clothing store in Paris. It is made from a patchwork of leather off cuts and is embellished with silver plating. I found it at the end of a rack full of second hand Burberry Trenches – oh Paris your so dreamy!

What was the first article of clothing you ever designed?

A Ninja Turtle outfit with a washing basket as my shell for a school swimming carnival.

When did you realise you wanted to become a fashion designer?

I asked my mum for a sewing machine for my 14th birthday, she brought me a pink Huskvana that I still have today. I think I was sold from that point on.

The best creative journey’s start when I am……

Working for great people!
