With the warmer months almost in our grasp, it’s time to rip off that winter coat, kick off those woolly socks and embrace the approaching spring and summer trends.
Taking inspiration from VIPARO’s forthcoming collection, we’re going take a trip down trend lane to discover what’s going to be sizzling for summer.
Pretty in pink and oh so fine, pastels are a must have addition to your wardrobe colour palette. Musky purples or sorbet lemon yellows can be worked seamlessly into a neutral outfit as a solo item, or can be piled on top of each other to create a rainbow of candy cane colours. Be sure to pick the right shade for your skin tone though to avoid looking sickly.
Prints are a staple for any summer wardrobe, and this year, we’re being encouraged to take a trip to the tropics – at least with our print choice. Think: palm leaves, tropical fruit and even a cheeky flamingo or two. To avoid the pattern looking gaudy and oh so tacky, be sure it’s placed on a neutral background. NOTE: your pattern choice should NOT resemble that of a Hawaiian shirt’s.
When you’ve got something on your chest, make sure it’s a vest, because a vest is best to put you ahead of the rest. Enough said.
DO NOT BE AFRAID! Although peplums look intimidating, OTT and as if they’ve been dragged out of the 80s, they are great way to add a bit of structure into your wardrobe. Whether featured on a top, skirt or dress, be sure to keep it modern. Vintage peplums don’t quite have the same clean line that is needed of the style, instead go for leather or soft knit type of fabric.
