Let’s forget the music for a moment and delve into the head turning red carpet fashion that the biggest songbirds on the planet wore to the 55th Annual Grammy Award Ceremony. In light of a memo sent to stylists regarding a ‘bum and side-boob’ free policy for all those attending, certain singers rose to the challenge and sparkled, while others imploded under the pressure, generating fashion disasters. Look on and see for yourself…
Beyonce looked bootylicious in the Osman Yousefzada Color Block jumpsuit. Undeniably sexy while still complying with the dress code. Nice one B!
Kelly Rowland, unlike her modest band mate, left little to the imagination with her revealing Georges Chakra dress. I’m guessing her internet was down the week that the dress code memo was sent out…
Rihanna shined bright like a diamond in an Azzedine Alaia red chiffon gown. The singer owned the red carpet in her decadent dress and matching red lipstick, notice the transparency of the upper part of the gown to keep it playful and fun.
New mum Adele looked like a pretty, pink cupcake in this red Valentino Couture floral-lace dress. Although, the dress should come with a warning label: do not look directly at it for more than 5 seconds or you will go mad.
Nowhere in the memo did it say you couldn’t pull an Angelina and have your sexy, never ending leg poking out the side of your dress. The cutesy country star Taylor Swift sassed up her classic good girl look in a J. Mendel pleated white gown, while dance legend J Lo showed plenty of skin in an Anthony Vaccarello black draped techno satin dress.
After seeing Florence Welch in this Haute Couture gown, I’m thinking that next year there should be a memo against spiky, reptilian dresses. Yikes!
Katy Perry opted for a classy and sensual look with the Gucci Sablé Gown. She didn’t stray too far from her classic sexy, flower child image, notice the floral embroidery around her ever present cleavage.
Alicia Keys is on fire with a classy and chic leather on cotton look Azzedine Alaia gown. Her only let down is the end of the dress which is a little too mermaid-like, she’s lucky she made it down the red carpet without toppling over.
