I always love a good blog, where the topics are fun, engaging and interesting. The fashion industry is a dynamic one, some say we make our own rules. There is never a set way of how people work and create, so its pretty cool to learn what creatives and free-thinkers go about life and career paths. We chatted to stylist Jess Steuart about her blog, This is Collective and her style tips.
How would you describe your blog ThisIsCollective and how long has it been up and running?
ThisIsCollective launched a year and half ago - The idea behind it is to provide an exclusive edit of interviews with inspiring, creative individuals around the globe. Alongside the interviews, I also have the Blog, which features behind-the-scenes from our shoots, tips from industry insiders and fashion news.
You interview a variety of people, not just within the fashion industry. Who would you say would be a dream subject to interview?
I would love to interview Imran Amed, Founder and Editor of The Business of Fashion. Elin Kling - (Blogger, co-founder & owner of online fashion platform NOWMANIFEST and Fashion Director of her own magazine, STYLEBY) would also be a dream to interview.
You're a stylist, what is your top tip for both men and women when it comes to fashion?
Your first instinct is usually the right one and invest in classics.
Any favorite trends you're loving at the moment?
I love the white-on-white trend continuing into SS14, I'm a big fan of monochrome and the Saint Laurent-esque rebel trend.
Finally, what would be 3 staple wardrobe pieces that every woman should invest in?
A leather biker jacket, your go-to everyday bag and cashmere knits.
